RESOURCES FOR DC RESIDENTS

In homes where there is domestic abuse, it’s not just the people who are at risk; animals are often targeted as well. Through the Safe Haven program, the Humane Rescue Alliance offers 24/7 help for victims of domestic violence who are concerned about the safety of their pets.

Call 202-723-5730 for assistance or to learn more.

The Pet Pantry program was created to support DC residents in caring for their pets by providing free pet food to those who indicate need.

The food distributed is intended to supplement the pet's monthly food needs and to reduce the financial burden associated with pet care.

The Medical Center, located at 71 Oglethorpe St. NW, is currently offering vaccines and preventatives, giving pet owners an opportunity to have their pets vaccinated without the additional cost of a vet exam.

Vaccines are available by appointment only. Dogs must be on a leash and cats must be in a carrier.
